KUANTAN: In a move to help the authorities combat crime, some 300 students of SM Panglima Perang in Indera Mahkota attended a crime prevention and awareness campaign organised by the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation’s (MCPF) Pahang Chapter.
Present at the event held in co-operation with the Kuantan police district and the school’s Crime Prevention Club were state MCPF chairman Datuk Johnny Ch’ng and the school’s headmistress Che Jamilal Che Abdullah.
The students were given insights on crime statistics and ways of preventing crime via video clips and talks.
Ch’ng said such campaigns were important to educate the younger generation on staying away from crime.
“Most criminals are cultivated from a young age, and if we do not educate them on the correct path, they may graduate to commit bigger crimes.
“Parents must play a role in keeping track of their children and their circle of friends,” he said
Meanwhile, Che Jamilal said that activities must be introduced in schools to nurture a generation of good and responsible citizens. |
